For all students, who requested accommodation in the student’s dormitories before the end of July, rooms have been booked for the period 26 Aug (first night) – 29 Aug (last night); rooms should be left on 30 Aug. Prolongation of this period could be done upon your request after your arrival. The price for the accommodation is 14 BGN/nignt, or 56 BGN (~28 Euros) for the whole period and should be paid cash on the 27 Aug. The address of student’s dormitory is:

Sofia, Studentski grad, Block 57 B

We ask you to plan your trip in such a way that you arrive in the dormitory before 4 pm in order to be able to go to the Opening ceremony. There will be a person from the Organizing committee who will meet you at the entrance before 4 pm. After that you should communicate directly with the guardian of the dormitory for your keys. If, accidentally, there is nobody at the entrance, please call Victor Ivanov at (+359) 886 620669. We will be very appreciative if you can inform us about your approximate arrival time by sending a message to the address: vgi@phys.uni-sofia.bg

You can get to the dormitory in several ways depending on where you arrive in Sofia.

From the Central railway or bus station

  1. Go to the underground Metro station and take the train in the direction “Lozenetz”.
  2. Get out of the train at the station “European Union” and take the exit toward “Cherni Vrah” blvd. and hotel Hemus.
  3. 50-meters away from the metro station and near Hotel Hemus (a tall building next to the exit) there is a bus station. Take bus # 94 toward Studentski grad.
  4. Get out at the bus station “Zimen dvoretz na sporta” (“Winter palace of sports”). Follow the attached map and you will get to Block 57 B by a 100-150-meters walk.

From the Sofia airport

  1. Go to the Metro station on Terminal 2 and take the train in the direction “Obelya”.
  2. Get out from the train at the station “G. M. Dimitrov” and take the exit toward Studentski grad.
  3. Just next to the metro station there is a bus station. Take bus # 280 toward Studentski grad.
  4. Get out at the bus station “Zimen dvoretz na sporta” (“Winter palace of sports”). Follow the attached map and you will get to Block 57 B by a 100-150-meters walk.

The ticket for the metro costs 1.60 BGN and is valid for unlimited number of transfers underground. Tickets for metro can be bought at ticket machines at the entrances of the metro stations or at cashier’s desk. The ticket should be validated at the barriers at the entrance to the metro stations. The ticket is valid to travel in the metro within 30 minutes from the issue hour.

Once you get out of the metro, you should take another ticket for your next bus connection, again at a price of 1.60 BGN. The bus tickets are sold on the kiosks near bus stations (where available) or by the bus drivers. Tickets should be punched in the perforation machines installed in the bus. You are advised to take additional ticket for your luggage; otherwise you may be requested to pay a fine by the controllers in the bus.

If you travel in a group, it may be more advantageous to share a taxi, which normally costs between 10 and 15 BGN from the railway/bus station or from the airport to Studentski grad.
